“It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you’ll do things differently.”
WARREN BUFFET
CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
We have a specific emphasis in our approach to, directly and indirectly, benefit social upliftment of the previously disadvantaged communities located within the immediate vicinity of the various construction and development activities that we fund.
“Building a sustainable future now, for tomorrow by being deliberate about our role in society.”
Social upliftment is achieved by providing a means to access housing, being subsidized or affordable type housing, as well as benefiting the communities, local SMME, contractors, subcontractors and artisans in the trade of construction, procurement and supply of various products and services needed. This is in addition to the ESG principles that will be applied to promote and regulate sustainable development, preserving the integrity and sustainability of the environment, as well as energy-efficient and green building technologies.
Active monitoring of the actual percentage spent in the local community, and the wider communities at large, together with skills development initiatives through various learnership programs, as well as measurable ESG parameters, ensure measurable results in this effort.
The following additional social impact measurements are adopted as well
30% Local Procurement
SMME Upskill
On Site Artisanal Trade
